Encanta La Vida Rainforest Lodge is an eco hotel located on a lush and tropical 3.5 hectares, backed by the Corcovado National Park, in Cabo Matapalo on the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. We are proud to have been the first hotel established in this exotic part of Costa Rica. We remain committed to providing unique and adventurous travel options in the comfort of an intimate, beautiful tropical jungle lodge.The lodge property stretches from the shores of Pan Dulce beach to a virgin jungle backdrop. Our beach is accessed through a trail that weaves through Cacao (chocolate) trees and mango trees and lands you at our beachfront shower. We offer a variety of accommodation options to suit any taste and group size: whether you are looking for accommodations for a few nights, or a beach vacation rental, you'll find the comfort you are looking for at Encanta La Vida.
Wake up to the sounds of the howler monkeys that live in abundance on our private reserve. Daily visits from Scarlet Macaws, Toucans, 4 types of monkeys and many other types of exotic wildlife will be seen throughout the day. Fall asleep with a symphony of sounds - rolling surf, musical secadas (the jungle).
The Lodge was designed to offer comfort and amenities in a private, interactive, intimate environment. Enjoy dining in our new open air kitchen and rancho dining room. Grab a coldy from the bar and enjoy star gazing from our star gazing deck. Or shop for Costa Rican treasures from our very own gift shop. Or just kick back in a hammock and take it all in.
The main lodge of Encanta La Vida consists of a large open-aired kitchen and dining area, a gift shop, office, bathroom, and living room. There are also 3 spacious outdoor patios - a star gazing deck, a deck overlooking the garden and a deck with hammocks.
Accommodations at Encanta La VidaThe Casona
The Casona is a 3 story structure with viewing decks on all levels. It is beautifully constructed of cement and exotic woods, mosaic tile detail and decorated with local art and indigenous artifacts. The second floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, a private bar, and large breezy viewing deck at treetop level with hammocks and chairs. Watch toucans and monkeys from the veranda!
There are 24 hr/day solar powered fans and lights in each room.
The third floor consists of a tower offering great views of the Pacific Ocean.
Ranchito Room
The Ranchito Room is a 'typical' thatched roof structure constructed of cement and exotic hardwoods, and backed by the jungle and with views of the property and gardens. Conveniently connected to the second floor of the main lodge.
It offers accommodations in a breezy spacious cabina with a double bed and private bathroom.
The native style thatched roof assists in providing a very cool temperature during the heat of the day.
There are 24 hr/day solar powered fans and lights.
The Pole House
The Pole House is a rustic three story structure made of exotic hardwoods, surrounded by tropical gardens and provides a lot of outdoor living space.
The main floor consists of a large deck with a private bar, a spacious room with two double beds and private bath, and also an outdoor bathhouse.
The second floor boasts a large deck, a spacious room with double bed and another private bath.
The Honeymoon Cabina
Our newest cabina and definitely our most deluxe. This mini villa is very spacious and was designed with privacy and comfort in mind.
The Honeymoon Cabina is surrounded by tropical gardens. It's about 700 sq ft and has a dining area, large rear and front decks with hammocks, chairs and a bar. There is also a beautiful large tiled bathroom with hot water.
